The born and growth of HONDA brought Japan a great fortune.

Koichi Kondo, the Chairman and Representative Director of Honda Motor Co., Ltd. conducted a speech summarizing the characteristics of Honda management into three items.
First concerning “Internationality”, he emphasized that HONDA keeps a principle to produce its goods at the places where they are wanted and not to try to increase its capacity beyond the demand. This fact keeps HONDA’s robust structure under current rise in the JPY value.
Concerning “Respect to work front and individual”. The philosophy “To believe in capability of every member, and to treasure the idea of an individual”, which has been kept since the founder, Soichiro Honda, seems to me a little difficult in some cases to be actually applied. However, as HONDA has steadily increased its business performance, it is bar none wonderful.
Concerning “Research and development aiming for a dream”, he introduced the way of doing of Soichiro “To try to do things that no one will try and no one can do”, and talked earnestly about the challenge to “World No 1” and “World first”. I knew the humanoid “ASIMO” and ecological engine “CVCC”; in addition, HONDA also put the airbag and automotive navigation system into practical use first in the world, which fact I did not know. I was so proud to be a Japanese when I learned about it.

His splendid talk excited me and rocked my world throughout. HONDA is a wonderful company. ”Striving for a dream” is very important and I understand anew that it is the real brand of HONDA. I think HONDA has given a challenging mind and dream to Japanese especially to the young people, but also affect the bona fide culture of the business society. Chairman Kondo’s speech made me feel that the born and growth of HONDA itself brought a great fortune for Japan.
