Practical English -Lesson 6-

-Lesson 6-
Today, I explain how to get the capability of “Reading of English”.
We, Japanese, had unspeakably read few English sentence until now.
For example, the text for reading to be use in Japanese school per one year is just one 100 page level book.　It is impossibility to get the capability of “Reading of English” under such situation.
Please remember the amount of Japanese sentence from birth to now.
We have read very much amount of Japanese sentence to correspond to each circumstance
(airy stories, newspapers, magazines, instruction leaflets, letters, etc.)
So the points to get the capability of “Reading of English” are following.
『To read the English sentences which you could get interested both as fast as possible and as many as possible.』
Why is “as fast as possible”?
Because we, Japanese, had learned English sentences word for word, we almost have the most bad common practice of overturn reading.
(-Meaning of overturn reading-
The word order of English is “Subject → Verb → Object or Complement.
The word order of Japanese is “Subject → Object or Complement → Verb.
So we, Japanese, try to read Object or Complement after Subject before reading Verb without a thought.)
Without fixing this bad common practice, we could not read newspapers, magazines etc. to be written in English.
English is the language same as Japanese. So just by reading continuously from the first, we have to be able to understand the matter of English sentence.
Accordingly, when we read English sentences as fast as possible, we could have no time for overturn reading.
So this training is very important.

At first, Do not care a little mistake, Understand the outline which authors want to share with.

Especially, when you read newspapers or magazines to be written in English, you must not try to read all of the article.
Because, when you read Japanese newspapers or magazines, you will not read all of the articles.
Please consider “English” the same as “Japanese”.
When you have this training, at first, you would be better off using the easy things.
Maybe you could find out the best thing in book stores.
