The shopper was unexpectedly few in a electric shop.

Japan is a national holiday today. I went out to a nearby large-scale electric shop.
The shopper was unexpectedly few though I had expected whether there were a lot of crowd because it was the end of the year.
Is it because it was cold today?. Or are citizens suppressing purchase for fear of business aggravation of the future?
