平成21年度私費外国人留学生生活実態調査概要

日本学生支援機構(JASSO)は我が国の大学等に在籍する私費外国人留学生を対象に生活実態調査を実施しました。
結果の概要
２．日本留学前の状況
*留学の目的は、「学位を取得する」（54.6%）が最も多く、次いで「就職に必要な進んだ技能や知識を身に付ける」（54.0%）であった。
*日本を留学先として選んだ理由は、「日本社会に興味があり、日本で生活したかったため」（53.1%）が最も多い回答であった。
*留学するまで特に苦労したことは、「日本語学習」（54.6%）が最も多い回答。
*留学情報の入手方法は、「親戚や友人に相談して」（47.0%）が最も多く、次いで、「インターネットを利用して学校や日本学生支援機構（JASSO）のホームページを検索して」（37.3%）であった。

５．収入
*収入の平均月額は、138,000円であった。
*収入は、主に「アルバイト」及び「親・兄弟、又は親戚からの仕送り」及び「奨学金」であった。
*居住地域別の収入の平均月額は、関東地方が154,000円と全国で最も高く（東京のみでは160,000円）、東北地方が110,000円と最も低かった。

７．支出
*支出の平均月額は、138,000円であった。
*支出のうち「学習研究費」が最も多く、次いで、「住居費」、「食費」の順であった。
*支出が最も高いのは、民間のアパートやマンションに住む短期大学生であり、平均月額は171,000円であった。最も低いのは、国立大学に通い大学の学生寮に住んでいる学部レベルの学生で、平均月額は90,000円であった。

８．アルバイト
*全体の約8割（75.5%）が何らかのアルバイトに従事していた。
*職種は、軽労働の「飲食業」（51.8%）が最も多く、次いで「営業・販売（コンビニ等）」であった。
*従事時間は、週平均「20時間以上25時間未満」（26.4%）が最も多く、次いで「15時間以上20時間未満」であった。

第2回 日本語能力試験：　昨日から受付が始まりました

日本語能力試験
目的：　日本国内及び海外において、日本語を母語としない者を対象として、日本語能力を測定し、認定することを目的としています。
試験日：　２０１０年１２月５日（日）
受　付　期　間 ： ２０１０年８月２７日（金）〜１０月１日（金）（消印有効）
試験レベルはN5、N4、N3、N2、N1であり、レベルによって試験科目は異なりますが、言語知識、読解、聴解の試験があります。

合格者には、日本語能力認定書が交付されます。

「処暑（しょしょ）」」は「暑さが落ち着く時期」の意味といわれています。

日本は四季の国です。
日本の暦には、その時々の季節を表す名前が付けられています。
その一つが二十四節気と呼ばれる季節の区分けです。
今日は二十四節気の一つ「処暑（しょしょ）」にあたります。
「処暑」は「暑さが落ち着く時期」の意味といわれています。
ただこの連日の暑さは、まさに酷暑が続いているとの感じです。
単純に異常気候と言って良いのでしょうか。

中国福建省福清から17歳で来日し、留学生として学びながら「中国情報局」（現「サーチナ」）を創業し、社長として発展させてこられた端木正和さんにインタビューをさせて頂きました。

（要旨）
生まれ故郷をはなれて働くには、その国の風土に馴染まない限り周りの信頼は得られないと思います。 私は『感恩（人の好意や恩義に感謝すること）』と日本語の『一生懸命』という言葉が好きです。

A supporting message for international students:　 Mr. Masakatzu Motoki (Searchina President)

I interviewed with President Masakatzu Motoki, who came to Japan from Fuqing County, Fujian Province, China at age of 17, established the “ China Information Bureau”(present Searchina) while studying as an international student, and developed the business up to the present.

Abstract
Working away from hometown where you were born, you can’t get reliance or trust from those around you if you do not get acclimatized to the country`s local climate and custom, I think. I like the “gratitude (thanking to other person’s kindness and favor)” and the Japanese word of “doing something with all my heart”, and I am strongly aware of them all the time.

Japan’s Obon season

Japan’s Obon season is from August 13th to the 16th.
Obon is a Buddhist festival to recognize ancestral spirits.
It is believed these spirits return to their families during the period.
People visit their ancestral graves and make offerings of flowers and incense.
Buddhist monks visit people’s homes to recite sutras at the home altars.
People also enjoy Obon dancing, or Bon odori, at summer festivals around Japan.
Bon odori was originally a religious ceremony to send ancestral spirits back to the spiritual world.
During the period, many companies give employees several days off.
Many people return to their hometowns, making expressways and trains extremely crowded.
Meanwhile, the city is deserted during the bon holiday.

各地の夏を彩（いろど）るのは祭りです。

日本は南北に長い地形ですが、どこにも同じような暑い暑い夏が有ります。　各地の夏を彩るのは祭りです。　
7月、8月には次々と祭があり、その季節は特に男が盛り上がります。
北から南までどこも祭りがにぎやかです。
良く知られた仙台の七夕まつり(7月)、弘前ねぶた(8月)、秋田竿燈（かんとう）(8)、山形の花笠まつり(8)、京都祇園祭(7) 、大阪天神祭(7)、大阪住吉祭(7)、徳島阿波踊り(8) 、高知よさこい祭(8)、小倉祇園太鼓(7)、博多祇園山笠(7)等は住民が熱くなる祭りです。
　山も水田も鳥（ツバメ）も昆虫も最も元気な季節です。　
この最も暑い、しかし農閑期のこの時期を活用し、豊作を祈り、先祖の霊を祭り先祖と対話するため皆が力を合わせます。　
暑さを追い払う為、隣の町内と誇りを賭けて祭りで競い合います。　
暑ければ暑いほど皆は一層熱くなります。　暑いほど豊作です。
冷たくした西瓜を食べ終わったら、もう一度、祭りの輪に入りましょう。
熱い祭が終われば、豊穣の秋です。

今日は土用の丑の日です。

夏に食べたいものの筆頭はやはりウナギです。
暑い日のウナギの蒲焼きはスタミナをつけるのにもいいし、「今日はウナギよ」と聞いただけで、うれしくなります。
食欲をそそります。　ご飯との相性は抜群ですね。
世界のウナギ類総生産量にたいして、日本はほぼその半分を消費しているとのデータが有るようですね。
今年は特に暑いので、「夏バテにうなぎ」というのもよくわかるような気がします
今日は土用の丑の日です。
我が家もやっぱり夜はうなぎのかば焼きです。
おいしい夏に乾杯！
